SHE MOVES BASKETBALL

In Women’s basketball, they don’t come much bigger than WNBA superstar Breanna “Stewie” Stewart and now she is part of the PUMA family! Stewie will play a vital role in helping to grow our business, by collaborating to create products including a signature shoe, which will be the first for a WNBA athlete in more than a decade.

Showing our commitment to grow the sport for female athletes everywhere, iconic image maker June Ambrose helped to debut the new PUMA Women’s Hoops range with a basketball-inspired lifestyle collection, PUMA High Court.

At the Olympic Games, our female athletes showed their skill when Breanna Stewart and Skylar Diggins-Smith won the seventh consecutive Gold medal for Team USA Women’s Basketball, while Jackie Young also took home the Gold with Team USA Women’s Basketball’s 3x3 team. While dominating on court, our athletes debuted the new Fusion Nitro Spectra, which features PUMA’s NITRO foam technology which was first introduced through Run PUMA.

THE MB.01: A SIGNATURE SHOE FOR LAMELO

PUMA athlete LaMelo Ball won the NBA’s Rookie of the Year Award, and we launched a signature shoe, the MB.01, with him, our first with a player since returning to basketball in 2018. The MB.01 joins the lineup of PUMA’s iconic basketball signature shoes from the 70s and 80s named after basketball legends Walt ”Clyde” Frazier and Ralph Sampson.

NEW KIDS IN THE FAM

PUMA Hoops welcomed Mikey Williams, who at only 17 years old became the first high-school basketball athlete to sign with a global footwear company. His undeniable talent and his young audience of more than 6 million followers on his social channels made him a great fit for us. The additions of Killian Hayes and Chris Boucher completed our roster on a global scale, expanding our footprint in Canada and France.

DREAMING ON WITH J. COLE

The successful campaign for the RS-DREAMER, the signature sneaker of Grammy-winning artist J. Cole, continued in 2021 with the release of the DREAMER 2. J. Cole also made his own dreams a reality, as he played professional basketball in the African League and debuted several DREAMER styles on the basketball court. As part of the promotion for his highly anticipated album “The Off-Season”, J. Cole and PUMA incorporated the red DREAMER 2 into the campaign to build hype for the brand and his music.
