At the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, PUMA-sponsored athletes won 22 medals, including six gold medals, double the medal count compared to Eugene 2022.

Over the past 75 years, PUMA has worked with some of the best track and field athletes in the world. Together we have achieved unbelievable success and broken numerous records.

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis

New year, new world record: with 6.23m, Sweden’s Armand “Mondo” Duplantis set the pole vault world record in 2023 for the seventh time. He won the World Athletics Championship as well as the Diamond League, and was crowned “Athlete of the Year 2023”.

Heinz Fütterer

Heinz Fütterer

No one was faster than Heinz Fütterer in 1954. At the European Athletics Championships in Bern, he won gold in the 100m and 200m. In October of the same year, he matched the world record with a time of 10.2s.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh

Yaroslava Mahuchikh

Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchikh jumped higher than anyone else in 2023. She won 15 out of 17 competitions, including the European Indoor Championships, World Athletics Championships and the Diamond League.

Armin Hary

Armin Hary was the first person to run 100m in 10.0s. At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, he won gold in the 100m and 4x100m relay.

Shericka Jackson

Shericka Jackson is one of the fastest female sprinters of all time. The Jamaican won all her 200m races in 2023. At the World Athletics Championships, she claimed gold in the 200m, and silver in the 100m and 4x100m relay. On top of this, she won the Diamond League in both distances.

Merlene Ottey

Merlene Ottey is one of only two women to compete in seven Olympic Games from 1980 to 2004. She won three World Champion titles for Jamaica – two in the 200m and one in the 4x100m relay.

Norwegian world record holder Karsten Warholm continued to write history in 2023. For the third time, he was world champion of the 400m hurdles. He also claimed gold in the 400m at the European Indoor Championships.
